GIVE and be Thankful.
I love this time of year! I just feel happy, warm, cozy and loved. I just can't get enough of it. I have been so excited for Christmas that I kind of tried to rush November.
I thought this was an opportunity to continue the Blog series I started, "Putting a Face to the Homeless". Yesterday, while leaving the craft store, after buying decorations to make me feel more in the "Thanksgiving mood" (hahahaha the irony makes me laugh at myself, oh my.) I was stopped by a homeless man. He told us his story. His name is Mario and he is a veteran, who has struggled. He also introduced us to his most prized possession, Zar, who was beautiful.
I couldn't help but step back and take some time to reflect on myself. This man is just trying to survive, not only in general, but survive the Holidays, alone. Just him and Zar. How selfish I've been trying to buy my "thanksgiving feeling". I helped Mario and Zar out yesterday, and I hope he'll find a way to "pay it forward".
GIVE and be thankful.
